Mother's Day
When I was a little girl I thought my mother was a super hero. I never understood how she accomplished all that she did in only 24 hours. She worked tirelessly for our family and for her career while sacrificing sleep.
My mom is a diminutive powerhouse.
Growing up, Mother’s Day meant a day she would likely have off from work and an opportunity for us to show our appreciation through music, laughter and food… lots of food. Mother’s Day to me will always be HER day. I am so grateful to be given THIS mother. She is gorgeous, a woman of strength and honor, she smells lovely, she shows how much she loves you through feeding you endless amounts of food, and prefers the NY Yankees over the Mets.
I am unable to see her often because we live 1,600 miles apart. Somehow with every phone call and video chat I can still feel the warmth of her unconditional love.
Happy Mother’s Day to all! I see you and value you 365 days of the year.
